On a whim, we removed a row from the FEATURED WEB CONTENT and added a row to GAMES... So now more games are getting front page space.
In the near future we'll be introducing some new game categories to the GAMES section. I'm wondering what category Ocean Explorer belongs in... Something new? Gadgets? If there were a new category, are there other submissions that fit with it?

Yeah, definitely featuring more NG Artist content is better than that featured content stuff.
I played Ocean Explorer in the portal. It's tough to list that thing for a category, but Miscellanius seens to fit more than the game categories.
Oh, and what about an ALIEN collection in movies? There's tons of aliens stuff on NG. Needs a category.
Yeah, I've actually been planning an alien category for YEARS now... Gotta get on that some day.
this is good news more games mean more time to kill. as for Ocean Explorer it would be a gadget since its similar to games of that type.

A lot more movies are submitted than games, but games also tend to take a lot more work, so they deserve a good run on the front page. :)
Maybe like User Creative or something...basically for anything that makes the player be creative... could fit with drawing programs and what not as well

Featured Web Content section was always useless I thought.
On the old design it was just bad porn, and on the new one it's weird vids that noone seems to look at.
It's really just advertising space. It doesn't do as well as it once did, so I tried replacing it with Google ads last week - but that didn't work out too well either so I switched it back. It's on the list of things that will get cut as we continue to "balance the budget" and try to get better ads in less spaces.
Great, I thought it was kind of unfair that there'd be more front-page movies than games, glad that's evened out now :).

It's always nice to promote more games, but don't forget about the movies now, that's the main export of this site. :(
How does a Simulation category sound? It makes sense, it hasn't been made, and there are a lot of games that fit into that category.

The featured web content was a good thing to remove. I never really looked at the stuff anyway. And it's also better to show off more NG Artists.
As for the game. I think there should be like a new game category called calm games or something just because the whole idea and atmosphere of the game seems so calming to me. Or i guess another idea could be innovative games, which would go to games who tried something different.

Not sure. You could make an Underwater collection and pair it with games like James the Deep Sea Zebra and Defend Atlantis.
As for other collections, you might wanna consider making a section for 3D movies such as The Mascot.

How about an ArmorGames section?
Or even a Classics section? It might ressemble Flash Portal History but in this case it is overall the flashes in history that kicked serious ass?
Ever notice all the Madness Interactive Mods on the site? Maybe there can be a section for that.
Oh, and while we're at it, Andrew Pants collection? I think it's arguable that some of his fanbase spawned from The Touchtone Genius, and some animations from people like Squeakytoad and Lazymuffin use his stuff.
