Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

There are a growing number of accounts that frequently submit games... I won't call them shitty games but they are cookie cutter games that appear to just keep rolling off an assembly line. The creators are either opportunists who employ third world labor, or developers who are swapping out some graphics and exerting minimal effort to submit as many games as possible.

Now, we've always been pretty lax about SPAM and we let you guys attempt to BLAM or PROTECT it... A lot of these games manage to make it through with reasonable scores in the 2.5-3.0 range and I guess some people are enjoying them. Many of them are somewhat decent, they just happen to be re-used over and over with new themes.

Do you think games like this should just continue to exist and pile up on NG? Or should we some day face a COOKIE CUTTER GAME APOCALYPSE where they all get mass-blammed?

I also am weary of the growing trend of games where you don't know who really made it. We don't allow you to submit a "stolen" game that someone else made, but we do let companies submit games that were produced by their staff, or developers they sponsored. Stuff like this likely won't be deleted, but as the amount of submissions on NG grows, I will continue to tighten the focus on games that were made by recognizable individuals. So keep that in mind when it comes to assigning credits.

lets go for a game apocalypse

I'd say that Blamokalybse 2011 is at hand (finally)

...Why are you all looking at me?

'calypse NOW!
If this was just one or two company postin' one or two games in a month, helpin' animators...

But NO,
they're too many, posting hundred craps a week with allready sames shitty graphism, kind of simply games...
AND THEIR ADDS!

This is not real animations or games, there's no creation, no personality, no arts (yes doin' flash animations n' games may be called art for some awesomeness :3)!

I'm done so please, for the creativity, all real animators n' authors on NG, for all those knight of freedom/creativity/provocation/strang eness(?)/depravity... (NG knight in fact= Hell Yeah!) let's have a BLAMAGEDDON (like says JonBro up :D).

...Oh! and thanks for your awesomeness Tom!

We don't need the copies in my opinion.

I would give a warning, if they continue delete a couple of flashes, if the people continue then ban them with a warning, if they continue after that permaban them from submitting.

It's a lot of work, but you could recruit some people to search them out and link them in a thread.

a tough one. i think a mass blam day could be dangerous because sometime voters can be as unreliable as developers. not always, but the fact is you'll be dealing with a lot of people trying to get rid of worthwhile games because they don't like them. that being said i dont actually know how you'd do a mass blam thing so i'll keep an open mind.

Other then that it's a strange dilemma. good luck :)

APOCALYPSE.

If you are talking about what i think you are talking about, then yes, APOCALYPSE.

I didn't understand what you said very well but there are many unacceptable submissions getting pass judgement. Something must be done. I vote for mass blaming!

+1 for apocalypse.

IDK but I tend to avoid the games so... yeah. Anyway, Whats it like down in your town right now?

It's going to start snowing tonight.

As much as i agree with 'Power to the People' I also believe that too much power to the people will end up in a negative way. Having people re-post games with different names and an addition or two to the main system is quite unfair, both to those who originally created the game/content and the viewers who might find out they're playing the same game they played a month or two ago. The ad's system might also be a factor when dealing with the re-submitted games, as some already mentioned.

For the benefit of the original creators and animators/artists/coders who work their ass out to create something original, Apocalypse i say!

Suddenly, I am glad that I don't know how to program a flash game.

But I have one flash I want removed, unless you want it on the turd of the week...

And please GET RID of the Advertisement Preloaders. Those annoy the SHIT outta me. What if I don't want Expedia or learn about Hard Water Stains? What if I don't want to buy that tanning solution for girls made with Highly pollutive chemical biproduct?

Ads annoy the SHIT outta me.

Please delete the accounts submitting them.

Actually... there would probably be some issues with a Blamageddon, but mass-deleting games within a certain range of score is... probably reasonable. For the most part.

Delete everything.

HAH!! MY POST WAS REPLIED BY TOM. HOW DOES IT FEEEEEEEEL >:C

if it's a money concern there's always money in the banana stand

I agree with the apocalypse thing but I can't think of a fair way to put this into effect. I've submitted stuff that ALMOST got in the top 5 but was knocked out by a game like you are describing.

It also sucks when someone who maybe is new to the site submits stuff only to be beaten by games from anonymous developers who are no way related to NG.

Also, FallowerOfHank. Ad's are one of the only ways a website can earn profit. It takes money to run a site. It takes money to KEEP a domain name such as newgrounds.com. If ad's weren't bothering you on the daily, Tom wouldn't be doing his job, which is making money.

I would agree with apocalypse, but I can understand hesitation.
