Wouldn't go 1-800-FLOWERS.com either. I had my girlfriend's flowers sent to her school today. Unfortunately, they canceled school. I then tried to change the address to have them sent to, before the flowers had been shipped, and they told me they couldn't possibly as Valentine's Day was the next day. Just sticking to local florists seems the safest way from now on.

Not to sound selfish, but... where are YOUR flowers? Or is this whole Valentines Day a one-sided holiday?

I wonder if FTD ever gets overwhelmed on Valentines Day and has even more of a delay on their orders.

Valentines Day is about love, not about purchasing objects or things for a certain someone. Buying Flowers is more of a "I know Valentines Day exists, so here are flowers, chocolates, and a kiss" (or whatever else you may do ;D)

I have no idea how busy your schedule is, and I'm not sure if you were being sarcastic or not: Did you really not have any time to hand deliver flowers to your own wife? That's really sad :(

Again, I don't know how tight your schedule is, but if I were to somehow put myself into your situation (even with out knowing much about it), I would've given myself for Valentines day. In other words, free up my schedule, a sick day, a special occassion, anything to get you away from the works.

Spend quality time with your love. Flowers are objects that are a symbol and representation of your love. Actually being there for your wife and showing her you love her is just you and your love to her.

Flowers don't hurt though :)
