Siriusly

Posted by TomFulp Aug. 9, 2007 @ 10:51 AM EDT

I'm completely disgusted with Sirius Satellite Radio at the moment.

So several (many?) months ago, I stopped getting reception in my car. Weeks later, the same happened with April's car. It turns out, the Sirius antenna is a total piece of crap that tends to break within the first year (as noted in the reviews on Amazon, where it has a one star rating).

To make matters more annoying, Best Buy says they haven't had the antenna in stock for months. I finally gave in and ordered the antennas on-line from Amazon, but a month later, I have received notice that they are unable to obtain the antennas and have cancelled the order.

Meanwhile, April and I continue to pay a monthly subscription, which I really need to get refunded. To think I still own stock in this company. :(

Well I think this is a sign you should sell your stock Tom, and maybe put some stock in a good antenna company ;)

You own some stock? How much?

Aug. 9, 2007 | 2:57 PM TomFulp responds:

I put in $1000 the morning they announced the Stern deal... I think it might be worth like $400 now or something, dunno... I never seem to have any luck with stocks, I should have just invested in Apple and Google.

That's why all my radios don't get satellite, just good old fashioned FM, Sirius is a crap company, you should sell the stock and move on to a company that isn't completely worthless.

Who needs Sirius anyways, all you really need is FM/AM+ a CD/casette player
Buy stock in a real company like Marvel or one that actually knows what it is doing

... those fat schmucks!

Aug. 9, 2007 | 4:14 PM NickScott says:

I don't see how they could do that, it's just weird for a successful company to totally block off people from getting extra antennas when they know full well they break all the time.

Try getting an HD radio or something. Clear sound, more channels and and no monthly fees (I sound like an advertisement rofl).

If I where you I would sell your stock in them now. I think you forgot that you are in charge of a major website that a million people go to a day and some read news post and stuff. Yeah slander aint good for a company.

Ive had problems with Sirius as well... when i had a BRAND NEW reciever installed in my car i went to register it and they said that the new radio i bought already had a customer registered.. and they couldnt transfer it to me.. am i sure the radio isnt stolen. Needless to say it took a long ass time and i finally got it working. I get really bad recep near my house.

Nothing happened with my receiver.......yet........Now I wonder how long it will last.........what's gonna happen once Sirius merges with XM. They would have to compromise on one signal, then everyone would have to buy new receivers......at least, that's what I heard.

Aug. 17, 2007 | 4:07 PM bloodychainsaw1 says:

Well, fuck Sirius then. But here's a tip. GET XM RADIO. I've had it for 2 years and it has never broken or lost it's reception and it is 10 times better than Sirius Satellite Radio. Peace out!
