Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

Considering set design and lighting, if that was at their disposal to begin with, whether they used gummy bears or not, i think their materials could have been made prior to when they decided on gummy bears doing the things they are doing. Shooting film is usually done as a shorter process compared to the planning and editing. although i guess it's different with stopmotion..

i don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Ive seen companies take others ideas from time to time. Could be.

Well why would they release it 3 days after it comes out though? Like what would be the rush to do it so fast?

But this is a huge coincidence

true, not saying you can't do this in 3 days, but you'd have to think about when they got around to seeing funy monys cartoon, then immediately starting to try and get an idea together, getting a crew, materials, cameras, lights, animators, post and then pre production, etc.

It looks good!

I hope they will be successful!

I think it's pure coincidence.

uhh
yeah, seriously
they're from hollywood
what else would you expect

It's a shame that the little guys put all their soul in their work only for big time corporations to swoop in and "steal" their work.

If anything...that's how these major corporations stay on top. By being "inspired" by the art of independent artists who post their stuff online.

The question is...if you really have a GREAT idea...should you post it online?

I watched this episode of ICarly with my cousins once, and this DISNEY-ISH studio would steal jokes from their show and mildly edit them for legal sake.

When I was 12, I submitted a lego creation in a contest (they took pictures of mine) I didn't win, and about a year later....BIONICAL. But it is legal cause they used different lego pieces.

JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE MORE POWERFUL FINANCIALLY DOESN'T JUSTIFY THEIR PLAGIARISM!!!

ASSHOLES!!!!

I feel that if you have an idea REALLY good. You should keep it secret and work it out throughly. And only reveal it when the time is right.

Furthermore...if Seth Green's animation studio of Robot Chicken could make 15 minutes of Stop Motion animation in all it's wonders WEEKLY.

Then 3 days is MORE than enough time to make a 30 second piece of knock off CRAP in comparison to funy-mony's high comedy talents.

How the Hell does gummy bears on a battle field have ANYTHING to do with Vevo music?

They stole his idea...and they make it so plainly obvious.

funymony secretly made this himself.

Either someone hired a spy with a time machine, or there really is a finite amount of ideas swirling around this universe.

But three days really is enough to pull that production off.

wow what a ripoff. Maybe this one have more quality in the visual style, but the original gunny bears is more interesting in the story development.

In 1 Day is totally posible to make this video, you can find the scale trees in any architecture/manuality shop, also some papershops sells this. Find some rocks and dirt and you have this background ready. Then 1 day for editing and you have this video ready.

Tom I work making Post-production for TV COMMERCIALS, the one who makes the idea/script are the creatives of the Publicity Agency, and a lot of this guys "steals" ideas from other videos. So is totally posible that VEVO is using the gunny bears idea without giving credit

Hooh, sure they could've. But you've given the true question yourself: did they?

I was sure before watching it, but after, I'm eager to say yes. If they had done anything more elaborated (like the original) I wouldn't think so. Just an coincidence I'd guess. But this smells like a crappy idea rape.

Well, it uses gummy bears, but that's about the only similarity I saw...

I'm not sure if they ripped off it or not.

However, I DO know that this could be done in a matter of HOURS.

Me and My bro did a stop animation with legos a long time ago. Like ten years or so. It took about two hours.

nah

It sucks how they cut the combat and followed with a crappy dance-off... Also why does it sound like they raped Ride of the Valkyries?

It probably wouldn't suprise me if it was true. I mean there people like us and for all we know a employee could been surfing newgrounds and found the movie by Funy-Mony. He knows the company needs a idea for a ad that is clever and such why not use this? I mean people could argue rather it was a inspirational piece or just a downright stealing of a idea but as for it acutely being true I could see it happening.

Funy-mony is better than Google.
