Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

lolz its cute

Hey Tom can I Pimp Your Ride?

Such a unique idea seems a little unlikely that it would come out twice in the same three days. I don't think production would be an issue. The sets looked easy to build, and they could be done at the same time as the scripting. Then a day or two to place the bears, with substanitally less detail than FMs. The instant popularity of the video suggests it was pretty widespread by the time they started production. A lotta groups probably have idea scouts over here, it's the standard.

Uncanny.

WOH, they could have... Its VERY similar, the production of it seems a little on the low budget/rushed project. They might have taken the idea :o

Yeah, this is a little too coincidental. That is a little distasteful. But business is business.

It's a possibility. It seems to much alike to be coincidental. Nice catch Tom.

My birthday's tomorrow >_>

We are not alone! They watch from their towers... waiting... biding their time

Haha, WOW. What a coincidence indeed!

The animation actually took me a span of 3 days.
4 hours into filming, 4 hours into editing.
Most of the time was spent playing Left 4 Dead 2.

So absolutely. They could have created it in less than three days.
An entire day if they wanted to, for a mere $15 and a ride to the dollar store.

It may be a coincidence.
Any animator could just pop open a packet of gummy bears and BING~! The battle idea comes to mind. Most people are just too lazy to work on it.

What I find out of place is the introduction before the breakdance battle.
It's unnecessary and the video could stand alone with just the breakdancing gummy bears. SO THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT THEY COULD BE WATCHING US...
Spying on us... harvesting our collective creativity and originality...

*HISSSSSSS*
*puts on foil hat*

definitely, three days is totally enough to make that with a team of hollywood talent. I'm sure this isn't the first time this happened...

It's simple it's a rip off that waht big companies do we live in a world like this.
If it loooks like a rip off smells like a rip off it most likely is a rip off.....

tom ill see what my "men" can do.. you won't see them animating ever again.

The resemblance is weird, and they could of made it in 3 days, but why would they? Gunny Bears was only popular here, and I don't think 100,000 views is enough to get the attention of huge companies like that (not that I'm saying it wasn't good).
Then there is always the possibility of coincidence, there's alot of people out there.

that's indeed something to think about. Put your individual works online and they might get stolen by a company who is looking for an idea online.

I'm not saying that they did copycat, but we'l never know if that's the case.
3 days is more then enough time to make that with just two people.

Yeah, you could definitely make that in 3 days, it's only 31 seconds after all. Plus, it's likely that they already had that set, so it was just a case of producing some props and animating the gummy bears.

Sure they could. Did they steal the idea? Yes. Tell Funy-Mony to go and collect his percentage of the profits.

I think gummy bears are a popular item for today's youth.

BITCH DON'T LIKE GUMMY BEARS WTF IS WRONG WITCHOO?!?

Tom, i think at least hundreds of people have played with their gummy bears before they ate them. Is it such a stretch to think that two separate people can come to the same fairly common solution?

Now, if FM's idea was extremely bizarre and avant garde and THAT was produced by someone else then it would be more conspicuous.

3 days?
If I have Flash, I could have finished it in a day and a half

I think I recall another situation on a news post saying that Cory in the House stole an idea from the NG movie Raptor Lincoln. Seems like something's fishy here...
