I vote that when a corp submits a game, they have to credit the names of the people of created the game, OR FACE BLAM. Seeing 500 submission from "GameCorp" or some other generic name makes me feel like NG is turning into a faceless game factory.

Tom i literally spend alot of my free time looking for a game. I mean like look at the game portal. Some of the 1min games which end in 1min are actually quite enjoyable. But then there are bad ones which are just there cause the user wants to get scouted.

So Tom i think out of all fairness, you should go threw with the apocalypse. Its the only way to stop BLAM on the game portal. Destroy all game under the score of 2 >:3

It is about time we come down <insert joke> on these half-baked games. Are you alluding to those skimpy dress up games? The billions upon billions that seem to be systematically constructed on the daily basis? Fixated faces set on one expression kind of creeps me out in all honesty, no blinking or slight smirking, just staring blankly into the depths of your soul with those soulless eyes *shudder*

There has to be others that may have suggested this, but allow me to share an idea: what if the fix for this problem is just raising the necessary score for it to be passed or blammed, even if the tweak is as simple as to allow a vote of "2" to be considered a vote for blamming, while 3, 4, and 5, are still a vote to protect?

In fact, that's simple as hell. Take a look at the Flash Portal...3 or 4 blues (exceptional scores), a handful of greens, and a shit-ton of non-highlighted titles that I just call "grays". After the adjustment, gray submissions are the one's that barely survived judgment, and they'll likely be fewer in numbers after that tiny adjustment in code. This makes any flash with a 1.XX score blammed, and that would shave off a good chunk of mediocrity being submitted to the Portal, right?

Of course it's easier to save submissions, because 2/3rds of the voting bar opts to save them...it's no wonder that with very, very few exceptions, users have a higher save-count vs blam-count, and there's lots and lots and LOTS of mediocre games and toons all over NG. Change the voting bar to half/half, and users will naturally start carving down the intake while benefiting from their deletion at the same time through incentive for a likely blam point.

It's a fact that some users vote to pass spam submissions because of the perceived futility in attempting to blam it, and I only know this from what I've read in the forums in the past. Increase the potential for blamming, and it may also make it more difficult for spam to trickle through. Significant things could happen with the voting bar being altered to balance the weight of blamming and protecting.

This is one of the main reasons I've been seeing as the start of the down fall of NG.

I vote for an apocalypse. Maybe keep the "original" (or at least the oldest submitted version of a cookie-cutter franchise), but everything else is just no-effort garbage. The people who do this don't deserve any promotion.

A little off topic I'm sure but it's like being a parent. There is a time and a place when you have to stop being your kids "buddy" and start being their parent. In other words cracking down on them wouldn't hurt. Would you rather stand aside and watch as NG becomes a site filled with crap that doesn't even reach a 5/10 rating just to make everyone feel better, or throw down some ground rules about members vomiting out content just to say they have it. Just think about it.

An Apocalypse would be a good idea, but how are you going to keep them out for good? How about a new way to blow the whistle on someone. In addition to this movie is malicious, stolen, unsuitable, add "this movie is a cookie cutter." This would get rid of all the new cookie cutter games that are crap, and still have it be the users that are doing it.

Blam the fuck out of these games, because whats the point of having generic games with themes slightly different? Its going to make the ones with actual talent not stand out or even be remotely noticed.
