And today I receive an email from YouTube offering me partnership. Despite having tons of video game footage on my channel, I might just apply anyway since I hate the site.

I try to avoid it along with facebook, google, and deviantart...
I consider it cool that a website that didn't sell out to a devil worshipping, censorship happy company, could threaten a massive soulless entity like youtube enough that they would be willing to play dirty.
Then again I read in "Wired Magazine" Youtube has been having a hard time turning a profit, they need all the support they can get...

I got my own set of theories. 1 Being YT's fear of losing artists to newgrounds.
But to be honest.. if newgrounds and youtube would shake hands atleast these things will be forbidden:
-Taking newgrounds flashes and putting them on your own channel. (Aka getting views that way for work that didnt happen)
-Shitty hypercam2 film overs.
-Revenue for newgrounds
-The end of NG vs YT animations.
But hey... insted of making a great ally that might be more succesfull then you and make you bigger.
They just make a larger enemy who will outclass them at this rate.
I also think they are maybe against the fact of "Condemning Videos"
Even if a video gets 1 like and 5000 dislikes.. it will stay on YT.
Where as on Newgrounds it will vanish.
Oh wait. I get it now. NG sucks because the redesign hasn't launched to make it awesome yet. LOl

It's simply because YouTube in its early days expanded through stolen Newgrounds videos and fads, and they don't want new people to know that NG exists in the first place.
On top of that, YouTube (Google) probably has ridiculous profit margins and pays only the partners while Newgrounds, a company that survived out of the pocket, partnerships that surrendered control, porn, and only in the last 6 years start making decent revenues, pays just about everyone some shares of the ad revenue.
Oh please Tom, this is nothing compared to Viacom's power hungry fuckery. You're lucky Viacom decided not to falsely copyright claim your ass. :P
