Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

Tom Fulp, I am trying to say that this website is FUCKING magnificent and awesome!

I could send you an email about posting any new videos in THIS year.

Thanks for the plug at the end! :)

Great interview. I'm really looking forward to the new features coming in the future. The best thing about Newgrounds is that it never changes for the worse. It always changes to make the community better and more unified.

"youtube is just a video dump" when I herd people could upload mp4 video's to newgrounds I cringed, to me it seemed like the flash portal was kinda like a bouncer that keeps shitty videos out (anyone can upload an mp4 but swfs take a little more know how, right?). I was like "Great, here comes a wave of shitty video's (i.e. video blogs)" and "I guess I better get ready to be rick rolled to oblivion". Man I could rant about how much I hate youtube all day. Needless to say in the first week or so of the redesign I was rick rolled here on newgrounds, however it was blamed and removed almost instantly, you have no clue the satisfaction I received clicking that blam button and seeing a little while later that it was removed, after years of torment and frustration, rick him self had finally been rolled. I have not been rolled since.
Great interview BTW!

Newgrounds got me interested in the media world and helped me realize what my outlets are. In fact, Newgrounds also helped me achieve my first homosexual experience. Lmao.

No but really, this site has fucking changed my life. I got a job at Apple, got signed onto a cartoon series, and am working further to improve my skills. Thanks NG.

Tom Fulp, thanks a million for this internet heaven.

Ooh, interesting.

I wish I could get into the fine art of animation. More specifically game making, but I would require the ability to code first.

I should probably start practicing code then.

It's kind of funny, because I remember I found this place just because a couple years ago when I was linked to a game here I saw the submit flash button. I really thought it was cool that you could make unique, fun submissions without using your entire allowance.
And also, the views. Any other website, you get five-ten views unless your game is phenomenal.
Even then, you get very few reviews and there are no ratings, so you have no idea how you're doing.
Thank you for creating this flash paradise.
ps. I think your hair needs some combing
pps. I wasn't lying when I said I would stop submitting crap entries. I've been working on a prodject for a couple months now :3
ups. is a good delivering company. ok goodbye moT pluF

you look better with a beard

thank you for the best site ever mr. fulp :3

Listening to you talk about this site and its future is incredibly inspiring; these interviews are gold.

Watching this really makes me regret falling away from NG. Also not stopping by this year at PAX. :(

That's exactly why I started animating. I never really talked to a lot of people outside my small group of friends, but it was cool being able to do something most other people couldn't, and being able to actually show off something that I put work into.
Once my teacher had me do a flash for one of those things where you go around booths and look at classes you might want to take. I had to make sort of an advertisement for the web design class. I originally made it like this:
<a href="http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/b2bee28d969ba87c643043c756978d66">http://www.newgrounds.com/dump/item/b2bee28d96 9ba87c643043c756978d66</a>
But when I showed my teacher, she told me it had to be a movie, not buttons and stuff. Kinda sucked working on something and then having nothing to do with it, now it sits in a dump file on newgrounds, kinda like your movie, although yours wasn't as useless as mine, I imagine.
Also lol at the guy at 12:16.

nice interview tom

Wow interesting interview. Tom I never knew you look like that o.o . Anyway like Tecnoir I hope to finish my games and movies soon for new grounds.
