All i can say is that before newgrounds i didn't know what drove me as person. Not a single reason was worth WANTING to get out of bed for. Before newgrounds i was lazy, unmotivated and frankly lost in every aspect. A pretty damn grim picture.

That was until 'alien hominid' and 'dad n me' (years and years before) that lead me back to this site where i was introduced to animation and the community here that sparked something. I watched others make amazing stuff and despite being exposed to cartoons all my life. It wasn't until i saw what people were able to accomplish here that i decided after a year of buildup to fully commit.

Now nearly 5 years later. Still going strong, it might not seem like it, but i've been animating every single day. And i'm confident that in the future i will become the best i can be at the one thing i love doing most.

All these words together could be summarized into this: Thank you.

I can really relate to those "elaborate layers of mental tricks" you mentioned. I've been diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 18 or so.

Great post Tom, i enjoyed reading it. and hope NG has many more years to come and sticks around forever. as some one that wants to continue the stay here on NG, i think it has done really well.
tough times come and go and especially operating a site as big as NG, its how you solve them that matters. looks like a bright team you have, including tech and everything and everyone behind the scenes. Hooray for Newgrounds everyone.
