@TomFulp It sounds like you're mindful of your choices and doing your best. When it's time to replace your appliances you should check in with your electric utility - many offer rebates or rate incentives if you switch big items to electric. And there are state and local incentives too like tax credits and rebates.
I don't think I have the will power to go vegan but we try to find local farms to buy meat from. I actually drive out to a farm near me to get all my beef. We kept chickens for a few years at our last house and I try to find local produce at farmers markets. But most of my groceries still come from a truck. The closest grocery store is Walmart 8 miles away. I usually do a pickup order every week. The round trip is well within the EV range of my car so I don't feel too terrible about it.
You'd probably have an easier time getting rid of petroleum products, than you would football in America.
@TomFulp If your kids every come across your website, personally I think it's more suitable for them to use it when they're older, but just in case make sure you watch over the kind of content they find here. Because you know, EVERYTHING by EVERYONE, age rated content and all.
In all seriousness though. Dick move from these companies to advertise this crap on a kid show. If they were doing it for gullible adults to silence alternative energies, it'd still be wrong but at least the idiots that fall for it, did so as adults making their own deision. Kids on the otherhand are extremely impressionable. They see a commercial for a hit toy, they want it. They see a shoe they think all kids will wear to look cool, they'd beg their parents to get it. They see this, hope to God their parents aren't staunch believers in fossil fuels. Oil companies are sick enough for exploiting kid shows and the kids that watch them. It'd be worse if said parents agree with it.
Tom Fulp is an environmentalist? That is genuinely life-affirming—I have a powerful ally. Imagine if the owners of YouTube or especially Facebook and Twitter actually expressed strong support for the end of oil gouging both our wallets and the planet, but I guess it’s not quite an easy way for a Big Tech to pretend it’s “woke” as saying they respect women and calling it a day at that.
Somehow I need to be hired to do an ad for the economic benefits of owning an electric car. It’s absolutely fantastic for me personally that I can ignore the prices for gas for basically the rest of my life, especially since I live in California (where the prices are especially draconian despite the fact our highway system makes driving everywhere a requirement and we need cars more than basically the rest of the world) and I pass through 10+ gas stations to and from work. If only EVs could at least get cheaper in response to petroleum getting stupid-expensive so you can all join me.
@HissPeepers Frankly getting rid of petroleum would be the more important of the two. Also I’d be fine with football sticking around if we could instead rid America of people who can’t be friends with you or hold a conversation unless you obsessively pay attention to the MCU like they do.
