Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

ever since that IPO fb has REALLY gone down.......
FB.....what happened?

i'm like that crazy dude with the rainbow afro wig wearing the body board yellin the end is nigh with this facebook shit.
i knew it was a social parasite from the get go, but never anticipated this crap.

proof (as if anymore was needed) that "social networking" is full of lame and fail.

thats fuckn stupid facebook sucks

Greed will always ruin something with potential. I feel like if you began earning ridiculous sums of money you'd be one of the rare few who actually won't ruin your website in the process. Your relatively transparent way of running Newgrounds is refreshing, really.

But yes, facebook's ego is too big even after that huge stock fail.

I noticed this myself awhile ago, too. The "fix" that's been making the rounds is to tell your page fans to click on the "liked" button underneath the banner header, and make sure "show in news feed" is checked. Hilariously enough, its against their terms to include a "call to action" or any other kind of infographic about this in the banner, so the only thing any of us can really do is make a post explaining this and hope that enough people will see the unpromoted post, hah.

Seriously though how ridiculous can they get. I'm irritated as someone who has a page but also on the user end I'm kind of pissed too, I always figured that "liking" pages would mean that I get to actually see the freaking updates, oh well.

On the other hand, I've never promoted any of my posts and so far the consistent stat is that a little over half of the number of fans I have end up seeing any given post. That actually sounds about right considering that you have to account for people who have a lot of feed activity or didn't sign in to be able to see the posts in time, and so on.

I also like that they'll mark your paid post as "sponsored", which is kind of a red flag IMO, I suspect that I'm not alone in tending to mentally filter out anything that looks like an ad as I read through feeds on any social media. All that in said, it really looks kind of like a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think it's probably reasonable to just carry on as usual while Facebook's IPO continues on its current trajectory, hurtling in a ball of flames towards the center of the earth

Tom, I'm telling you, Facebook is a facist corporation. Much like YouTube.
They make all their money through exploiting their userbase.

Also, Twitter is pretty cool.

There's no way a website could become this big without attracting money grubbing swine unfortunately.

Facebook Schmacebook, I'm doing perfectly fine with an email and a cellphone, and if absolutely necessary, Skype. Zuckerberg, needs to get dryhumped in the face, for America.

I feel bad for Zuck sometimes because Facebook was basically FORCED to go public due to the number of people who owned shares in it. Now that it's public, it's gonna be forced to keep boosting numbers for the share price.

And this paid promotion might not be as terrible as my first impression if it really does BOOST the amount of awareness more than we would have previously gotten. It just rubs me the wrong way because a large part of Facebook's popularity came from websites, brands and individuals promoting their pages on Facebook, so they could in turn benefit from the utility of the feed system.

Facebook is utter shit.

Wait... what the f*ck?

Yeah this made me really angry when they first introduced it too, and I'm certainly not going to pay them to share my posts with the fans who already liked my page. Them liking the page is their way of saying, "Yes, I want to receive all updates from this person/company/whatever." We shouldn't have to pay Facebook any extra fees to make sure that happens. Like you said, it's web sites like ours that sent so many people to our Facebook pages in the first place so they could keep up with the latest news we have to share.

Well fuck that

Those Facebook monkeys are goin down... their stock price is like a US quarter and dropping...they'll get their just desserts

Well, they gotta make money somewhere; but I think this is the wrong way to do things. They need to reviseon whats fair and whats not

Wow never thought I'd see them do a stunt like this. Is this for every post you make on there now? So much for promotions from other companies to their website if they are only to get charged for it. BS

THIS IS MADNESS I TELL YOU!!!! MADNESSS!!!!!

We harken back to the episode of the Simpsons, when Bill Gates buys out Homer, by smashing up his office:

"Oh, I didn't get rich, by writing a lot of cheques, Mr. Simpson *giggles maniacally*"

Basically, Zuckerberg is the same as Gates, though he's probably a bigger cunt.

I have 2K friends I can Spam Newgrounds Share. and if we get said followers do we get those sacred nude pics?

You probably already know this, but your drawception link doesn't work.
