I read somewhere that facebook gives fake likes to your profile page did you read anything about that?
Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

I know there are companies that pay for likes from companies that generate fake accounts, just to fluff their numbers and look popular. I don't think Facebook themselves give fake likes to pages, but there was THIS controversy:

I hardly use Facebook anymore. I'm starting to use twitter instead: it's honestly really addicting.
Facebook's only good for sarcastically insulting your friends. It seems like it would go hand-in-hand with NG's personality, but I guess even if two apples are exactly identical, it doesn't do any good to push them into each other.
Ugh, that line was really mediocre, and leaves the reader with more questions than answers.
I think Facebook is trying to go a more corporate direction, but the process isn't smooth or efficient because that mindset isn't something that's in Facebook's nature. It's really forced, and as a result you're going through the messy and tedious experience which will ultimately prove to be tests for them. They're on a thin line getting thinner, because if they go too far with it, the users could all just start migrating to another site. I imagine once THAT ball gets rolling, it's hard to stop it.
I'll have the same worthless chatter no matter which websites I end up on.

it's just like how flash hasn't been corrected for the past couple of years about the common crash error.
Why completely fix a product when you can have one last problem to have the community bitch about than to fix it entirely and not have any confrontational traffic?
it's as if they purposely "want" people to keep the chatter up and once they have fixed it, they introduce yet another problem filled update to keep the endless bickering cycle rolling.
but that's entirely opinion and in no way a fact.

You know Tom, you have all the same aspects that Facebook does, Newgrounds just isn't as popular with the other mainstream sites, despite what it offers is what the Internet loves. Why can't you guys just expand throughout the Internet more?

Is there a way for people who have followed certain authors to also see there post as well as the movies and art they have done? Also is there a way you can start promoting on youtube? So these other authors who also place there work on both youtube and Newgrounds have them add a little note on there videos saying something like "also seen on Newgrounds" or something like that so people will start to get curious about Newgrounds?
Another thing might be to promote yourself around local colleges or colleges around the world where you team up with these art schools or animation schools to have curriculum focus around some ideas that Newgrounds does to promote and also be able to allow these students work be showcased. I'm just spitballing here but if I think of anything else I will let you know.
I would like to get more involved in getting people to submit their class projects from college, every college has a bunch of students making animations and games that not many people will ever see. They could be totally celebrated on NG, like some of the great CalArts movies we saw this past year.

As many years as I've been doing math and lists, I've never seen anything as stupid as electronic MANUAL data tracking. The reason why we developed .xml Spreadsheets, data Clipboards, and HTML cookies in the first place was so we wouldn't have to type in the same thing over and over again in different programs. As for Facebook, with site as personal and free handed as this one, you're going to have a tough time going up against those big corporations like THQ, EA, and (Yes, sadly) Budweiser. This site is one for those who animate, who draw... Those who share their minds. A lot of people who come here and submit here have been dragged off, and that leaves us starved for talent. As it is, we (the ones left and you guys up there at HQ) have to fill in the blanks and put out more new stuff. As it is, I'd gladly stay here for as long as the site is up and submit work until I die. We need new talent, but it looks like we have to get NG back out there the old fashioned way: word of mouth. As it is, I'm going to make a poster with Tankman and make a huge fuss to other people about the site. This is my second home, and I intend to keep this temple of off hand artwork standing for a long time.

But Tom, we all love you! And everyone hates zuckerburg. People actually care about newgrounds, whereas facebook is just what everyone happens to use. if facebook dissapeared tomorrow people would not care, and just start using google plus. True, you didn't make the choices that made you the most money in the past, but thats because you aren't a heartless bastard.
and all the owners of businesses i know enter all kinds of data into spreadsheets.

Facebook has such a monopoly on social networking that they don't have to bother pretending like they care anymore.
