Tom you say of what a great place NG can be. What it CAN be.
Tom, here's why it isn't, you're not giving us little authors any credit!
You try and try to encourage authors to submit, but after we get off the 50 newest submissions in the Flash portal, those flashes get lost forever!
And you try to encourage lost gems to be found when you do NG treasure hunts, but those only happen once a year or so. You can't imagine how many times a flash has been made by just having a guy/girl go to anther guy/girl's house to make a flash.
It HAS happened before!
But what happens after they pass judgment?
Well you know what really happens?
You really want to know?
If it's got no color it's going to be forgotten completely with about 8 reviews.
If it's got green the it will get 30 reviews.
If it's got blue it just MIGHT get a front page and live happily ever after or if it doesn't it will snatch 60 reviews.
Most flashes get a green or no color score.
And what's really bad is that those flashes are GOOD!
Somebody tirelessly worked on that flash until he/she felt it was perfect, then all they get is a 3.00 score and 200 views, then the next person that checks out that flash is somebody who checked the authors profile and found a link to the flash and said "hey that's pretty good" and he/she voted 5 and left that flash and it was left there until another user comes by, nobody knows when that will happen, but until then that flash will collect dust in the darkest part of the NG archive...
Is that what you want Tom?

Nick and I just did something along those lines actually, I asked him if he wanted to do something for feb 29th on the 28th, because it only happens once every four years, and then we finished it the next day and submitted it off. Of course, we dont live near eachother at all, he's in the UK and Im in Canada, but it was a similar dynamic. go check it out, its Rarity.
