Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

    NYC

    Posted by TomFulp - October 12th, 2022

I was in New York City yesterday and took three pictures. I would have taken more but I was trying to be in the moment. This was my first time in NYC since before COVID so I got to see the Little Island that opened there.

You can listen to this song while you look at the pictures:

    looks beautiful

You got a good eye. Shame you don't have a time machine, you'd have loved to do the New York Skyline in the 1980s.

    cool

What is the character limit for an username?

    20 characters

@TomFulp And is it possible to have the username "user"?

The account doesn't exist so maybe not.

    @TomFulp But it existed.

The magical land of New York

One day, I’ll take a trip back to my home state. Just you wait, New York!

    Hell yeah

That view of dozens of trains in a huge pile is weirdly intoxicating

I could have taken you around more, even though I did so already (with a crowd) many years ago. Do you feel like coming back soon, maybe outside Manhattan?

I'd like to get back more often but dunno when.

@TomFulp the main key is to just not look like a tourist to really enjoy it here. Then do normal things.

Were you by yourself or with family?

As a native New Yorker, I don't wake up every morning and say, "Oh yeah, I'm from New York City, it's the dream land, life couldn't be better, yeah yeah." I do normal things. I wake up and go to work for the city government as my day job, do errands like the rest of us, entertain myself and get creative when time allows. Probably in the same way that despite your own fanbase, you don't wake up every day and say to yourself, "I'm Tom Fulp, I founded NG, everyone loves me and wants to be like me, every waking second is awesome..." Every day is about being normal like everyone else, and that's why I'd rather stay under the shield of anonymity.

I was visiting a friend who was visiting NYC, had lunch of Friedmans, some gelato at Venchi and then some pistachio gin drink at Bar Pisellino, was kinda like drinking a key lime pie.

@TomFulp that seems more normal, but those areas aren't cheap. I've never had a cocktail like what you described. I've been sober altogether for almost 9 1/2 years. At least you weren't at one of those overpriced restaurants and bars like Per Se or Daniel.

It seems like a decent place. the closest big city is Las Vegas so unless I buy plane tickets I don't get to see a big city covered in snow besides Denver. New York just seems more fun when it's cold

"This was my first time in NYC since before COVID"
Sir did you mean after covid?
    Also nice pics

COVID isn't technically over so I think that was the correct wording; the last time I visited NYC was before COVID kicked off.

@TomFulp I think my brain did not work, I didn't read the word 'since'
    Sorry
That's night time zen for ya

@OviManic If so, you should also visit Long Island. It's so beautiful also and it is not too far from the city. I live in L.I myself and recommend you give it a chance! (L.I is right next to the city)

Next time you're in New York you should visit Long Island! It is also beautiful and is right next to the city. Compared to the city, Long Island has more rural areas and so much more to offer. Personally, I live on Long Island soooo......

@DarkOblivious There’s a streamer I watch who lives in Long Island. I heard from him that it’s a pain to drive through there because of all the potholes.

shame that city is a shithole.
