Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

Now that we're raising a kid, we find ourselves watching a lot of Yo Gabba Gabba, possibly the best kids' show ever. Some of the episodes have a segment in the tradition of Picture Pages where an artist shows kids how to draw stuff. What I never realized is the artist is Devo front man Mark Mothersbaugh!

I've always loved Devo but I never researched any of the band members until this morning. It turns out Mark has done a lot of music for kids' shows, including the Pee Wee's Playhouse theme song. He also scored all the Wes Anderson films, so when you watch Rushmore, Royal Tenenbaums or Life Aquatic, you're hearing a lot of Mark.

I'm officially adding Mark to my short list of awesome people.

This is exactly how I feel about the Neo Geo.

This looks fun but their site has apparently crashed from interest.

Two weeks ago, my iPhone 3G stopped working. Apparently the simcard reader died.

My one year warranty had expired in July, so I had to pay for a replacement.

If my AT&T contract was up I could have gotten the subsidy and upgraded to an iPhone 3GS for $200, however my contract runs until December so a 3GS would be $500.

Stuck in a contract but without a working phone, I had to pay $200 for a new iPhone 3G. I would like it if the Apple warranty could last as long as I'm stuck in an AT&T contract.

So I was gonna complain about paying all that money for a phone that died after 14 months, but my new phone is now having similar problems that require frequent reboots. I did a little research and it appears the latest iPhone OS is buggy and leads to problems that can't be solved by a factory restore.

I THINK I just paid $200 attempting to fix a software bug that Apple doesn't seem to be acknowledging. Now I have to schedule another appointment with your genius bar and see if I can get my $200 back.

In other news I updated Madness Accelerant throughout the week so check it out.

The file takes forever to compile so it's really dragging out the final details. I still have a personal deadline of 11pm at the latest but hopefully considerably sooner! It WILL launch on Madness Day though...!

I'm starting to lose coordination between my brain and my fingers but it's all gonna be worth it on TUESDAY NIGHT when MADNESS ACCELERANT ignites!

I feel like all my posts nowadays are about Castle Crashers shoes but I always want to make a note of it when I see them. Curlyboy8 suggested that Brass Monki make a pair of CC shoes, so here they are!

This is pretty rough but I wanted to share something for once... A sneak peak at this year's Madness Day game! It exists in a weird fan-fiction arc where Madness 7 directly follows the events of Madness Regent, and the clown isn't quite dead yet.

Right now I got weapon swaps, non-weapon melee, pipe hanging and Krinkel's original clown art. This pipe fight is the first scene I'm working on, but the goal is to mimic the events of Madness 7 as closely as possible, with alternate reality weapons to spice things up. Just one month to go!

We got this in the Behemoth inbox:

"I recently celebrated my 21st birthday, during which I received what I believe might be the most awesome present ever given to me. I was handed a shoebox by a friend of mine the morning after my party only to find a pair of Converse shoes inside that she had custom-embroidered the knights from Castle Crashers onto. She did this with nothing more than a needle, thread, and a photo. I've worn the shoes basically non-stop for three days; I cannot seem to take them off."

I had some dark days during the development of Castle Crashers but this stuff makes it worth it!

In other news, despite a bunch of other ongoing projects, I'm gonna make an ATTEMPT at a Madness Day game. I already started by tweaking the engine to allow weapon swaps, but there are a few other technical hurdles I want to jump before fully committing.
