Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

How to Install and use flashplayer in your browser in 2020:
1: uninstall chrome or chromium browsers. or only use them as a backup for when you can't do something in firefox 51.0
2: get the firefox 51.0 offline installer from mozilla's website:
32:
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/51.0/win32/en-US/ (US)
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/51.0/win32/en-GB/ (UK)
64:
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/51.0/win64/en-US/ (US)
https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/51.0/win64/en-GB/ (UK)
3: disconnect your computer from the internet.
4: install Firefox 51.0 WITHOUT MOZILLA MAINTENANCE SERVICE
5: in Firefox's settings disable any variation of updating
6: disable sharing any data with mozilla! no bug reports no nothing.
7: go online install flashplayer.
8: you have flashplayer in your browser in 2020.
9: google is jelly
10: install no script
https://web.archive.org/web/20180514152954/https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/versions/
11: never turn on analytics.google.com scripts only turn on google.com if you must use google or recaptcha. then disable it when not in use and kill any google cookies.
12: set duckduckgo.com as your default search engine in firefox.
13: google is madbro
13: google will go bankrupt.

@SCtriestodraw of course you can make them. but hosting is the problem. HTMl5 is literally just the newest version of HTML, it's what websites are written in. So allowing users to host an HTMl5 movie or game is like supplying a website host for the whole internet and allowing potentially dangerous javascripts to be run. Most likely this will mean that HTML5 movies will not be natively viewable from your browser on any site. You will have to download the file and open it offline.

if you want to share/view things in webpages online, thats what flash is for. you can still install and use flash in your browser in 2020, don't believe google, they are liars. just, don't use google's software, so; uninstall chrome and use a different browser. if that doesn't support flash player; Downgrade. see my post about firefox 51.0 here in comments. spread the word.

@SCtriestodraw it's not a question of specifying. It's a question of writing the site to include a function which can run HTML content in a specific part of an already existing HTML page or cutting off the header of the animation, scaling everything in it and setting an offset so it will not overlap existing things. in short, a lot of work that most site owners are not going to bother with. just abandon google and downgrade your browser. otherwise you could wait years for someone to eventually allow HTML scaling on their site.. maybe. again the risk there is people will post javascripts in their HTML animation some of which may contain viruses. so alot of sites will frown on supporting it because they'd literally have to have a person or some bit checker scan the thing before allowing it to run on their server.

so yeah, HTML animations are not uploader friendly. you'd need to have your own site. so yeah, just give up on google and chromium. Downgrade your webbrowser if you want to keep flash.

Very good Mr. Tom Fulp! One day I will also want to be an animator and I really enjoy watching blogs about these things in the world of animation!

Ps: I think you're cool.

Happy birthday Tom! Hope you have a great day.

May you have the happiest of birthdays, Tom!

Happy b-day

Hello @TomFulp, I asked something regarding Newgrounds Player (such a great initiative to recreating the almost-abandoned Flash Player!) in the forum (https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1452317), could @TomFulp answer my question? Basically, if you coded the original program in C++, you can use Emscripten (you can find it on GitHub) to run it within the browser! It converts C/C++ to WebAssembly, but I think there even exists a JavaScript polyfill/transpiler for WebAssembly. So after that, you would only need to port the graphical stuff over to HTML5 canvas, or WebGL drawing functions. ;)

An example which makes use of Emscripten is a C++ text-to-speech application ported to web:

oh no

That's still confusing.

Somebody dared to reply, so here I am :O

Isn't flash abandon ware now? Can't I upload my Flash-installers for everyone?

tremendously grateful for you guys preserving old school NG content.

Im Gonna Use Flash Untill I Die

For a moment I had been worried, thank goodness I found this post...

I hate the fact that we're coming closer and closer to december.

Flash is a tool... that will never be forgotten.

@GeoGee yeah... it's like we weren't giving enough time.

Um... @TomFulp this question may be outta topic but.... when is newgrounds gonna have there own app/Software? A former flash coder by the name @EON the guy behind Chaos Faction (which I hope he make CF3) in 2006 or 8 has made a simulator of the newgrounds website.... which actually stands out pretty well and has some newer content you see in today's portal. So I was wondering if that where to be possible soon.

Why do I find as2 such a hard language to code at times.
