Wait Neo Geo is also the NG
Hi there! In case you didn't know, I created newgrounds. No, it wasn't made by some giant company - just some dumb kid who now has help. I also co-founded the Behemoth; we made Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers. Icon by Pegosho, banner by OmenaKettu.

Wait Neo Geo is also the NG
I was not expecting Tom to post a blog twice in one month
was ng named after neo geo
@KhaosKitsune617 If you follow the name trail, technically yes:
1- Tom's Neo-Geo fanzine was called "New Ground"
2- Two prior websites shared that same name.
3- The current website pluralizes that name.
Nightmare Cops port when?
So Alien Hominid for Neo Geo when?
Pico school 2 in neo geo?
i gotta get a Neo Geo collection or something
@AlexToolStudio Neo > New, Geo > Ground…
You ever had any plans to make a game ported to the Neo Geo some day? Can imagine that'd take a lot of time and motivation to work on such project on the side
It would be an interesting chapter to do something like that, bringing things full circle. Will have to wait and see what the future holds.
i think marvel vs capcom on the neo geo would be a cool port, if possible.
That one is probably out of the scope of what the Neo Geo could pull off, although there was a spectacular Saturn port that required a RAM cart, another fond memory.
You hyped for SNK's Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves? It's coming out this year!
I haven't been keeping up with that, I need to get caught up there!
Very interesting read.
Just got back from MAGFest and I wonder if anyone in that community has tried something like this?
Would be cool to see something like Sonic ported to the NeoGeo.
I have a conspiracy theory that it is no coincidence that Neo Geo and NewGrounds both share the same initials, "NG".
Every time I try to convince people, I end up spending another 3 weeks of my life in solitary confinement. But I swear it's true!! Why won't anyone believe me?!
I received a CD as a Christmas gift that had a massive collection of Neo Geo classics when I was a kid. Puzzle Bobble, Magical Drop, Metal Slug, King of Fighters, hundreds of great games! I loved playing through all of them, and even worked hard to complete several of them XD I loved the style, the game play, they were awesome ^o^ Even now, I love doing fan art for their franchises. And it is wonderful to see the console and games it spawned still getting the love it deserves today :D
But can the Neo Geo run Doom?
That would be interesting to see!
@BoiledMilkz I hope someone actually does this.
I remember hearing how this site is named after the Neo Geo and that solidified in my head how cool you are. I love neogeo games and im so glad a lot of them are finally getting ported and more people can experience them!
My personal favorites from the NeoGeo were Puzzle Bobble, Magician Lord, Cyber Lip, and of course Big Tournament Golf. It's cool that there's a mini-cabinet console available nowadays for the newer generations of gamers, or those that don't have the OG console and cartridges.
