I tried to click that video emded about 7 times before I realized it was just an image.
Also I applied for partner status, which on reflection may have been a bit premature but they still haven't got back to me in about a year since I applied yet I've started to see ads appear on my videos :S
That is why I only use YouTube for uploading my videos and Newgrounds for everything else.

My only theory for you is that they just don't Newgrounds to flourish, they are afraid that your reputation will cast a shadow onto Youtube and Newgrounds will be the next big thing.
Even though Newgrounds has existed since I was young.
Probably the erect penis at the end that gave them the grounds to do it.. But then again something like Awesome Reach which has way more over the top bonerific displays doesn't seem to be flagged for adult content to my knowledge.. If you want a partnership maybe consider going through a third party. YouTube isn't the only company providing them. As for that preview thumbnail, you can actually change it manually in your video options. Just upload a newer more eye catching image.
Now I prefer the ugly one.
You're better off sticking to Vimeo. At least there you don't have to compete with "geniuses" such as Fred, RayWilliamJohnson, and ShaneDawson whom are plastered all over Youtube everyday.

Tom, they probably want you to go away quietly. They know they can't buy you, and you are a direct competitor, so i'm not surprised at all that they are doing all they can to hinder you putting content on youtube. Google owns youtube after all, and google is sneaky like that.
YouTube can be rather antagonising at times.

Youtube's going to hate because ng has games! And how much ng content was taken from here (NOT by the author or anyone having something to do with it) and put up on youtube? Kirb's experienced this first hand, just to name one artist...
Not only has tons and tons of content from NG be stolen by Youtubers, but some of their most popular content of all time started on NG, such as the Numa Numa Dance and Charlie the Unicorn. There's also Potter Puppet Pals, although the YouTube version is a live action take on the animated version.
I remember they did the same thing with Redminus's Dante short as well, and I could've sworn it had nothing that wasn't safe for work. And wasn't that his most popular video?
