I actually have Joe Outterside/Xenon coming from UK to stay with me for a few weeks (The guy that made that "OMG" series and arranged "We Hate it When" and did a ton of other stuff).. We were thinking about making a flash together. He's doing a trip around the world.. So he decided to visit me for a while.
But yeah, I'll move into a town of Flash Artists... If there's someone to do my washing and cook me meals. :(
You could do that at the office. (You have before Amirite?)
Also Kartune Hustla lives Probably an hour drive away and we are collabing, probably not going to meet up because of a few reasons. (Maybe later)

Hey Mr.Fulp, why are you only a level 11 and only a Civilian? And your Whistle status is normal? why aren't you like a level/rank/whistle stat. of a supreme-king of Newgrounds(or something to that efect.)?

Speaking of which Tom, we're trying to improve the site back to where it used to be, and then eventually better.
Don't make any news posts or anything though (yet) because we are still brainstorming ideas.
I like the whole idea of a get together of Flash artists. Just feeding off the ideas of one or two people in real time usually ahs outstanding results. Imagine a room of them!
I'd personally be a few years away from any such thing, but it sounds promissing.

You know, something like this could actually be possible... provided you have a little funding.
What about hosting a Newgrounds Expo? Sorta like how Penny Arcade has PAX, but on a smaller scale. Rent out a small public building, like hotel ballroom, or a convention center. Schedule a bunch of Flash developers, game programmers, indutry professionals, Adobe spokesmen, animation studios, independent game developers, online stores and more to set up shop or offer keynotes. Debut some new flash animations/games (**cough** Pico 2). Hold some panels to interview some big name artists or developers. Sell some booths, host a party after hours, run a marathon in a newgrounds t-shirt and raffle it off... I dunno. I think you have a strong enough online community that the turnout may be worth it.
If it were in the LA/San Diego area, I would definitely attend. Maybe schedule it around Comicon so that no one has to make two trips to the West Coast. With a name like NGX, you can't loose.
I would LOVE to have an NG Expo and it IS on my mind a lot, but I would have to have someone else organize it. The pieces haven't quite fallen into place yet. :)
i might just be a noob but it would be thoughtful if u listen im not asking to send back or anything but i love yourwork and wish you could create a new series of a story about you and if its not a bother and you have anoth time would you be able to make me a signiture its ok if your to busy but if you are plz tell me plz thanks for your time
A better chat, a ICQ (I don't know if you guys in the US are using ICQ :P) system just for Newgrounders or something like that could solfe this problem.
You should turn the downstairs part of the office into like a Flash Hostel... and like visiting artists can stay there on the condition they make flash movies/games to pay for room and board... sounds more like a slave workshop the more i think about it.. but you can give it a nice name to make it sound appealing!
That would be a lot cooler if we had more "hip attractions" right outside the office... Like if we were in the center of downtown. Although we ARE near a train... I wonder if we would just end up with a bunch of crackhead heroin addict Flash artists sleeping on stacked cardboard.

I think about that a lot. collaborating online is fun, but if you're working together in person it's far, far better. I love spontaneous projects, too, so it'd be a total win-win if I could just skip across the street and start shredding or whatever with someone.
Oh, also an NG Expo thing would be incredible. I'd go in a second. It would be complicated though. Would you keep it small, with a certain guest list like the NG meetups that happen sporadically, or would you just let anyone show up? Would you provide food, lodging? What would happen there?
On second thought, small gatherings of more talented artists are probably better. Organizing something like that, where 5/10 people would show up and make flash and hang out, would be far simpler and probably much more fun :3
Whats wrong with crackhead flash artists.... it would be more economical than sponsoring movies.. just throw a big ol' crack rock in there and let us fight over it.
At any rate, a mini expo would be cool. Me and mindchamber were attempting to be event coodinators by heading up to that NY comic con and seeing what the scene there is like.. dunno if that'll happen being that its in april and everyones mad busy that month.
I dont mind coordinating stuff... i enjoy it.. but id like need a clear vision of what you have in mind.. your ideas are always haphazard and impulsive.
Speaking of the train.. where does that train line actually run? why hasnt anyone ever taken advantage like to attend a mod meet or something...
Before tackling anything like an expo, we should really consider something that is like the mod meet, but just for artists... The tough part would be determining a cut-off mark for how many, and whether NG would be putting everyone up somewhere, or if it would be too big for that. Maybe the goal should be like 20 of the best people we can get to come out... But then if someone doesn't make the cut they would be sad. KINDA LIKE HOW I DIDN'T INVITE YOU TO THE WEDDING. :(
As for the train, it goes direct to the airport and to 30th street station (Philadelphia central station). If someone was coming from out of state via train, they would need to get off at 30th street and then hop on the train to Glenside.
